About Fiercely Independent Pam

After dedicating almost twenty years to Catholic Inclusive Education, Pam finds herself reinventing everything! From moves up and down the East Coast, living in senior housing, navigating the chaos of the American healthcare system, and keeping her values and head on straight, she challenges herself through volunteering, finding outlets for stress and self-improvement, and always looking for the latest “it thing” to make life exciting! Come join Pam as she explores the world of mobility assistance, service dogs, healthcare, technology, and all while keeping a smile!

Pam is an oxygen dependent, ambulatory power wheelchair user with many chronic conditions including: POTs, IIH, Asthma, COPD, RA, Diabetes, Primary Immune deficiency, Adrenal Insufficiency, and multiple allergies. She has had too many surgeries to count but most recently, Pam is, with the help of some great medical teams finding her her way through the process of building, maturing, and using a A/V fistula for vein access. Currently also trying to make heads and tails out of blood pressure issues and managing urinary symptoms requiring regular catheters and causing lots of ugly uti’s. Permanently disabled since 2019, she’s navigated the disability process, medicare, and moved into a senior housing community.

Fiercely Independent is about finding ways to be able to live the life God has chosen for you. Fierce is a strong word, but describes Pam to a “T.”
